Challenge is registered with the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) as a provider of Specialised Support for Employment as well as to Assist Access and Maintain Employment.

At Challenge we aim to provide employment opportunities that enable the individual to maximise their potential. The employment support offered by Challenge may include training, workplace modifications and or the design and implementation of aides to enable the individual to satisfactorily complete tasks and increase productivity. Subject to an individual’s NDIS Plan Challenge is also able to provide support for an individual engaged in open employment.

Challenge operates the Welby Garden Centre as an Australian Disabilities Enterprise providing employment for over 40 individuals. Employees engaged at the Welby Garden Centre undertake a variety of nursery related activities including the propagation and maintenance of plants and customer support.

In addition to the nursery, Challenge also provides employment opportunities in the other activities undertaken by the association. Those activities include:

  • secure document destruction
  • grounds maintenance
  • light packaging
  • distribution
  • assembly

The focus of employment at Challenge is to provide the individual with activities that assist in developing skills, provides job satisfaction and fulfilment.

Assist Access & Maintain Employment / Specialised Support Employment
